DO you need.....

Just wondering if you actually need a DVD drive to copy DVD's or can you rip it from the CD using a normal CDrom drive??
As I only have a DVD player connected to my TV.

Are you serious?
Why not try reading the DVD in an old 5.25 floppy drive?
You have as much chance of reading it in that as you would with an ordinary cd rom.
