PS2 DVR-R media type?

Do the games and films have to be burnt on DVD-R Silvers? I currently have some by Pioneer which are purple on the recordable part and it seems that they will only play back in the DVD Writer.

Am I correct?

Well, PS2 games won't play in the DVD Writer. You probably mean (judging from your other posts) that the DVDR isn't recognised in the PS2.

As I've explained in the other posts, the NEO2 is the most likely problem. If you can play DVD original games, then the laser is fine. The Pioneer A03 is fine because you've got the right firmware and you followed the proper Nero instructions. Media is not now an issue with this firmware.

So NEO2 is a poor chip these days and it does also depend on your PS2. Is it v4 or v5.

Please reply in the other thread.

Charlie's right... I see people saying that the NEO2.2 works with DVDr, but if you go to consolesource.com, you'll notice they specifically advertise the NEO2.5 to be DVDr compatible, but say nothing about the NEO2.2. I'm not sure, but a lot of people claim to use the infamous "knife trick" to do the job, but to me, it's too much hassle.
