Try to install "hot date" with your copied disk. Then get the "hot date" fix from "####://codeseekers.com/gf/sims.htm". Replace the "sims.exe" file with the one from the fix. I used the following fix: "the sims: hot date expansion pack v1.0 [1.0 mb] nocd executable". Let me know if it works for you.

I have had problems with the no cd as well. I got it to work fine but it defaults to 800x600. Anyone know how a cd fix that defaults to 1024x768 or am I gonna have to keep using my cd?

safedisk2 is the copy protection used on this game, and your writer will not handle this protection or you would be playing the game with your backed up copy.
Get off this thread and go to cd copy and utilities thread and read read read and then you shall know the truth!!!!

As far as I know, ur Mitsumi isn't capable of making 1:1 copies of Safedisk 2 - I don't think it's capable of 'correct EFM c####g'.
You could try to use Clone CD's 'Amplify Weak Sectors' feature. This MAY work. Doesn't work with all writers.
If not just try the cracks again.

I got it burned with clone cd. It took about an hour... but it worked its way through. and the backup cd works perfectly. Guess I just had to be patient
