Going to buy new CD-R, need tips

Ive been thinking about the new Plextor IDE 24x/10x/40x, but then the new Yamaha 3200 24x/10x/40x arrived. The Yamaha is more expensive, but is it any better? Which one is best for making PC and PS2 game backups?

Plextor has always been one of the best CDR / CDRW units you can purchase. Almost from day one the hardware / firmware has supported "Raw DAO "CloneCD" or DAO PW "Blindread / Write" So... You really can't go wrong when it comes to a plextor. I use a Plextor 8x4x32 for those discs protected with SD2, as it's never failed backing them up. I also have a Teac 12x, and a panasonic... The teac works great as well with 2.0B firmware... Keep your eyes open for TDK Cyclone / VeloCD. It's essentially a remarked plextor.

In one word... "Plextor"
