Mech Warrior 4

i have Mechwarrior 4,

i backed up both disc with my yamaha 2200ez, using Nero. it appeared to copy just fine, but when i try to play it, it tells me to put in the correct cd. it shocked me because i can even install the game using those backups...but it will not play. any suggestions on how back up Mechwarrior and other games. is it the software or what ???
