WORKING Operation Flashpoint

I downloaded a working copy (usenet) wich seemed to be fine till yet. well i dont know what this fade thing is really about and how it affects the game. i dont have any txt messages or somethin and i played the game for several hours. however, my copy crashes during the animation sequence after "unfinished business" well it seems to me that this has nothing to do with this fade thing - maybe an error in the exe file?! The game chrashes ->Desktop (in game resolution) and the mouse cursor (system) is frozen. ->restart - - any advice?
