Insane Multiplayer

I bought a original version of the game insane, played it on the internet works fine. I wanted to play the game against my friend on the net, so i let him borrow my game.Problem is, we are now using the same cd ### as each other and the CMN client will only allow my copy of insane to be used.Does this mean my friend has to buy another copy of the game himself just 4 the cd ### , or is there a way round this? plz help.
