Copying SuperBike 2001

Hello all, I'm having a problem making a backup of my game. Everytime I make a backup of the game and I try to use that backup to play it, I keep getting asked to insert the disk in the CD Rom, even though it is in the drive already. I've already made a copy and removed the old .exe and replaced it with a "fixed" .exe but it keeps happening. Any help would be appreciated.

Okay here's all you have to do.
1.acquire a cracked exe off the net or make your own with un-safedisk.
2.copy the entire contents of the cd into a folder on your hd.
3.replace the sbk2k1.exe with your cracked one in the folder
4.burn the enitire contents of the folder onto a cd and BE SURE TO LABEL THE BACKUP "Skb2001".
You will still need the backup cd in the drive to play the game, but this is what I did and it worked fine. G/L

I've tried all the suggestions already. The problem comes once I've succesfully installed the game, and I need the CD to actually play the game. Once I click on the .exe I get asked to insert the CD into the CD rom. Well, the CD is in the CD rom. I've already burnt three copies of the real copy and used the cracked .exe from gamecopyworld, but the same thing keeps happening. Is almost as if the backup doesn't have some type of file needed for the game to run onve it is installed.
Please help.

Hi SUPERBIKE,
sounds like you are struggling here my friend, now, there are several ways of doing this, one is to use clonecd(not sure if your writer supports it) and the other is to load the game into your hard drive(full installation) and remember the folder it goes into , most likely EA sports. download the uk fixed exe or other uk patch from GCW and using winzip , unzip into the EA sports folder, do you know how to do this ? it should then ask you if you wish to replace the exe file to which you say yes. you can now play the game without the cd. i did it with clonecd and it works fine as its only got safedisc protection which is a doddle to copy. a good prog for earlier protections is cd copy protection detector from GCW by kwazy wabbit, once you insert the game cd in one of y our drives click on the pink smiley face which is the protection detector and it tells you how long the cd is and what kind of protection it has, theres even a clonecd auto start button which starts up clonecd if you have it installed and sets the parameters for copying safedisc etc......only prob with this is it wont do the latest protections such as securom2 or safedisc2 etc , but there are ways around that too. if you want more help m8 email me at [email protected].
