conquerors multiplayer

Thanx for reading

Trying to play two player lan game of AOE2 the conquerors with no luck (please insert cd message (f##@#n great) appears). Using some no-cd patch that works in single player mode. Any help would be ace.

Here's a no-CD patch that worked for me from gamefix:

Alternatively, if you prefer not to modify your game files, all you need to do is start the game on one machine with the CD, turn off the music under options, and remove the CD for use in the 2nd machine. I believe you can do this for 3 machines total. If I remember correctly, one CD supports up to 2 other players in multiplay.

MORE DETAILS:
INSTALLED AOE2 KINGS ON BOTH COMPUTERS.....
WITHOUT DOING ANYTHING TO AOE2 KINGS....
INSTALLED CONQUEROROS ON BOTH COMPUTERS.....
(BOTH AOE2 KINGS AND CONQUERORS ARE BACKUP CD'S THAT INSTALL FINE BUT STILL NEED THE PATCH FOR SINGLE PLAYER MODE, ALL PATCHES I TRIED WORK FOR SINGLE PLAYER MODE)

EXECUTED THE PATCH SUGGESTED IN THE REPLY LINK ON BOTH COMPUTERS.
GAME STRATS FINE, PLAYS SINGLE PLAYER.....
MULTIPLAYER,HOWEVER, HAS THAT MESSAGE (INSERT YOU KNOW WHAT)...
THE MRS THINKS SHE IS THE MASTER OF KINGS, I AM SURE I CAN KICK HER ARSE IN CONQUERORS.

This may or may not be an issue but before I installed the "patch" for conquerors, I installed the one for age of kings first.

To help you out, blakhawk, I can let you know that cls-e202.zip doesn't work either. In fact, I tried:

[#]dahool_aoe2v20a.zip
[#]cls-e202.zip
[#]aoe2_20a_nocd.zip

from GameFix and even age2_crk_2000.zip, which is for Aoe2 1.0 or 2.0. None of them work. The only one that I ever found that worked was a crack for 1.0 with a registry edit and it worked perfectly. Maybe you could try that one. Let me know if you want me to include the link. I don't know if I can find it.

Anyways, Lightning, have you ever found an Aoe2 2.0a crack that worked properly? I imagine that cls-e202.zip must be working for you or else you wouldn't have listed it first ...
