Civilization 1 Yes, I said "one". Map editor Help needed

I have a program called civmap21.exe that requires the original (DOS)civ.exe file to be modified in order for this program to work. I'm lost as to how to properly edit the file to allow this background program to function and let me edit the map as I play this grand-dad of a game. The map edit program and the required modifications can be found by typing any search engine 'civilization map editor' and getting the links. I will be glad to send anyone the original civ.exe file or the whole game if they want( ~1 MB zipped). The modifications required are minor (looks to me like less than 100 characters) museful**********com
