The various Neo differences please ?

Can someone explain what the actual differences are between the different Neo chips?

Like what has 2.2 got that 2 doesn`t and 2.5 that 2.2 doesn`t and so forth please?

Thanks Mort

You didn't get a reply 'cos no-one could be bothered. And you'll only get a fairly simple reply from me - as it's all too tedious!!

NEO2 is an 8 wire mod that enables the code inside the chip to control the disk tray, know when it's been closed, read PS2 registers and take over at the right time, supplying the "fooled you" signal when needed after you've made a swap.

NEO2.2 improves on the technique with lessons learned, improving on the treatment of EA games and DVD-Rs.

NEO2.5 takes additional functionality into itself thus requiring less wires.

NEO4 is a 44 wire mod that adds further functionality in respect of booting CD backups without a swap; this excludes EA games. All backup exclusions to the no swap rule require a swap method.

of the above, NEO2.5 is the best value for money chip as it's only 5 wires and does everything that NEO4 does except all backup games require a swap.

There.
