PSX Backup Blues!!!

Just wondering if anyone out there is having this very same problem.. Here it goes. I’ve tried everything near shooting my brand new TDK 24X10X40 drive in order to get it to copy PlayStation 1 Games.. I’m using clonecd version 3.1.0.0 and have tried using other software.. I’m using a Toshiba 12x32 CD Rom drive which is highly recommended by the CloneCD people for reading sub channel data ect… I’ve tried burning cd’s at various speeds including but not limited to sub 4X speeds.. The symptoms are as follows, either crackling sound and or choppy video. Worst case but very often happens the Play station doesn’t read the disks at all. Now for some odd reason I decided to try my old HP 10x4x32 and this little puppy doesn’t seem to have a problem coping the cd’s at all, even at 10X.. Does anyone have a theory as to why this problem seems to happen with this drive/PSX games?.. I’ve never had any other problems backing up any other kind of software/games.. only PSX.. Any help or theory’s will be greatly appreciated.

maybe your burner isnt fullly compatible with clone cd. you should check if it is. your hp burner is fully combatible, thats why it works good.

Crackling sound/choppy video is often a symptom of burning too fast, possibly in combination with poor media or a weakish burning laser. In extreme cases, burning at any speed with a weak or defective laser (like not calibrated correctly) can produce this result.
