Nook..... Well i am going to have to agree with the majority here (BOT-CK, Warlock and Deano).
Downloaded or backed up PSX boot cd will not work on its own, you will still have to have a mod chip that supplies the PSX with the essential info that it requires to "fool" it into thinking it has a genuin PSX title on board. Six screws to remove the cover and you will get the answer you want!

Thanks Man, I was thinking that I was not going to get your answer anymore but can you explain me one thing then. If you go to paraguai (Next to brazil) everything is really cheap there since they don't pay taxes but you cannot trust in everything because most of the time the quality is crap. Almost everybody in Brazil buys pirat cds that comes from paraguai and they work in any playstation so how does this works then (Not contesting what you're saying but just wondering how does that work).

Hi,
have you thought that those games you can get that are cheap are stolen originals, sometimes to the eye you cant tell a decent backup cover from an original. Im sure if someone has hundreds of stolen playstation games there gonna sell them off cheap. Just a thought. remember just because there cheap does not mean there backups!!!!! Dal |

these cheap cds are probably japan silvers. if you look on the bottom you will see that they are silver and they have the barcode on the bottom, so an unmodded psx can play them.

Well it's kind of easy to reconigse the pirat because they all have a crap label, I mean the colors are totally screwed up if you compare with the real one.

I agree with warlock that PSX won't read the CDR's unless the machine is modded..However since Nook said he somehow managed to get the game to boot up with the "Boot CD" there is one thing he can try to detect whether the PSX has Mod-chip or not..
If you have the following games: 1.Vandal Hearts II(Real Heavy Crack Protection) 2.Wild Arms 2(----) 3.Dino Crisis(---) Also some imports as well.. If you manage to get hold of them.. But only problem is that I had a Pro Action replay while back with the Spring to get the Game to boot up using a swap method but for proctected games it still says on the screen with Big Red slash saying the machine is modded..Unless I patched the games it didn't work.. I hope this helps! Like I said try the above games or try some of the EA Sports games..Some are protected..I just can't remember off the Bat.. |
