I really can't understand this...
Few days ago I gave someone my ps2 to be chipped, I have a ntsc console, why, after the console is chipped and also with gs2 it can't read original pal games? after all the chip is turning the console from ntsc to universal, no?
The person that put the chip told me, that if I want the games to work, I have to backup the original games and to patch them to ntsc and to play it with a boot disk, how can it be?? the meaning is, that I payed so much money for the modchip and the gameshark and the console itself and I can't play original pal games (in our country there is only pal system). Can P L E A S E someone be kind and help me??? Tnx in advance. You can also send me to my e-mail answers. |

Elizabeth, I too have a chipped (Jap) NTSC PS2. I bought the modchip on the pre-advertised basis thatit would play PAL and NTSC backups as well as Jap NTSC originals. And that's exactly what the PS2 is doing. The copy route is not too daunting, all info is on this forum or in www.megagames.com :
a) Obtain CDR-Win from the web and some high quality CD-Rs to receive the copies b) Obtain the FARGO or Universal PPF Patcher from www.megagames.com c) Look up www.megagames.com for patch info about each PAL game u wish to copy d) Copy the PAL game to a staging file on hard disk (.bin) e) Apply the relevant (if any needed) PPF patch to the .bin file f) Burn the patched file onto the blank CD-R As to the DVD games, we'll just have to wait for the DVDR-WIN the program to come along - as I'm sure it will. |
