First Burn Trouble

Well, this is my first burn...which doesn't seem to be working. I have a copying program, software that came with the burner, not CloneCD or CDRWin or anything, I don't know how much difference there is. And I have a Mod Chip that I got to play imported games which goes in the back like a gameshark, i hear a lot of people having theirs inside the PSX or something? The one I have IS a mod chip, so i dont know if there is any difference there either...anyway, I decided to try burning a game, so i tried on an import (DBZ game) which isnt exactly new. ('97) I put it in, and start it up like i would the imports, and I just get a black screen...what am I doin wrong?

If its a PS2 and you have a modchip you need a boot disk to boot the system to run a backup........

can you give me anymore info about the mod chip.........

If its a PS1 - the external chips are very temperamental.. you need to try some other software to copy a burn to make it work right..... you have to understand what you are writing to disk.. sometimes the cd may correct some errors in the origional game making the backup different, therefore a coaster !...

I use adaptec easy cd creator for PS1 backup and
clonecd for PS2 .....

it sometimes depends on your writer... what type is it?

PS1 games....the modchip is called PS Power Play...it looks kind of like the old gamesharks that plugged into the port in the back. What do you mean by "try other software? And it's a Backpack Writer/Re-writer that came with all Adaptec software. Also, I don't use the "Copy CD" option, because I always get an I/O Error for some reason. What I do is, I just copy the CD onto my hard drive, and then use the Easy CD Creator 4 to put the files onto the CD-R from the hard drive, it takes a bit longer, but it works. Lol. I've burned The Sims already, so I know it works..

There is NO way that you will ever burn a working PSX backup that way.
You MUST create an image file of cd before burning.
The only software you may be able to use for this is CDRWin, certainly NOT any crap Adaptec software.

if you are having trouble writing with CDRwin then use fireburner, you must make the image with Cdrwin then write with fireburner write with TAO instead of DAO as i found that is the only way it works for me.

Have you got it sorted yet?

If not then i need to ask a couple of questions before being able to answer yours!

What make and model of burner do you have?

What error are you getting from CDRWin?

At what point do you get the error?
