Whats the best mod chip for a ###NE?

Hello,
I have read thru alot of the pages.....
I will start by telling you guys what I have I have a hp 9100 burner useing cdrwin.....

Question, trying to back up smackdown 2 ( p-s-o-n-e) it always gives a cannot read track bla bla error partly thru the copy process....are the small scratches that bad on the original? It plays fine in the console? I have read the faqs on the cdrwin settings still no good I have made copies of some others that seem to copy fine but I haven't tested them which leads me to my next question?

Which mod chip would you guys buy(p-s-o-n-e mini console schp 10x)? could ya post a link to the web addy.......I want an intenal chip and solidering wont be a problem for me...

Thanks in advance...

Stano

The reading error your getting is because of the scratches on the original, you could try using bling read to get round this but you wont be able to get a "perfect copy" because blindread will insert zero's where it cant read information from the PSX original and no PSX contains zero's. You would be better off backing up from a disc that that give no reading errors with CDRWin.

The settings for CDRWin should all be left as default and make sure that the RAW box is also #####ed. You may want to reduce your read speed to 4x and your write speed to 2x for best results.

As far as the internal mod chip is concerned then i cant realy advise of a trusted site to buy one as i program and install my own, but with the PSX 1 you must have a chip that contains the MM3 (Multi Mode version 3) hex unless this has since been superceeded!

You could try www.paulmax.eng.net as they have always had trusted code and diagrams and i would presume that their customer support would be the same.
