AAAHHHH!!! I just messed up my PS2!

I was trying to MOD my PS2. I have the nightmare Version 4 of PS2 and when taking it apart I removed the entire controller cable part to the mainboard. I sent it to be modded by someone else but they said they tried for an hour and half to fix it but cannot. Is there a way to fix this? Or am I stuck getting a new PS2?
