patching psx games

Hi. I am just starting to patch games, and followed the instuctions. I downloaded the PPF Patch Engine and I am trying to patch the anti mod part of the jap game guiter freaks. I downloaded it, and I got an .xps file. I made an cdr-win image of the game already, how do I apply the patch?
