can PSX1 read cd-wr?

can i back up to rewriteable cd's b4 i make a final copy to see if it works first?

i want to cut down on my coaster output......i haven't made a successful back up with either cd-r or cd-wr

No, the Playstation was designed to read pressed cds only, therefore no requirement to read re-writables.

Yea, but you have tweak the laser.

I've heard that you can tweak the laser for it to read CD-RW but the down fall is that it won't read regular CD's or CDR's. Not really worth the hassle unless you have an extra PSX around.
