how to make backup cd's???

i just got ps2 and i have a modchip and everything, and i don't know exactly how to make a backup of my games. can anyone explain it to me step by step??

Yes - it can be explained to you step by step. You'll find the tutorials at any/all of www.playstationmods.com, www.megagames.com, www.psxcopyworld.com.

The basic steps to follow will be:

1 Acquire a CD copy program (CDRWIN or CLONECD) ensuring your CD-Writer is compatible
2 Buy good quality CD-Rs (like Verbatim)
3 Check for patches on Megagames.com in case you need to patch an NTSC game
4 Also check for patches in case you need to remove protection code
5 Copy (and poatch your game as necessary) and write result to CD-R

Read this forum (or the PSX forum) under the search theme "copy" or "copying". There you'll see the gotchas and ways round them.

Also remember that DVD games cannot be copied at this time as there is no software for it. There are DVD rips you can try - but it's a hard slog and will cost you more in time than it would have cost to buy the damn game!
