PS2 backups boot but freeze during gameplay

I have a modchip.com modchip and a gameshark V1.3

PSX backups, PSX originals and PS2 originals work fine.

PS2 backups boot up fine and function until I attempt to start the game. It goes to a black screen and stays there.

I have had this problem with Winback, and Star Wars Starfighter.

I have burnt the games using Winoncd, Fireburner and Cdrwin with the same results.

I am using Memorex Cdrs

Any help would be appreciated.

Press eject, let the tray come out
and press eject again to close the tray.

Wait a few secs 'till the backup loads and play !

The game already loads, goes into demo mode and I can even access the option screens.

The games freeze when I hit new game in winback, and star wars starfighter freezes after I am at the screen where the game is loading and shows your mission objectives. When it says hit x to start it hangs up and goes no further.

At this point I ejected both and closed the tray, both remained frozen.

Thanks for the info, but ejecting didn't help.

I`M USING VERBATIM CDR`S WITH 2 SPEED WRITING AND MY GAME STAR WARS WORKS FINE!!
YOU MUST BOOT IT WITH HOLD reset UNTIL AR OR GS MENU IS ON SCREEN YOU RELEASE THE RESET BUTTON THE DISK TRAY COMES OUT !!NOW SWAP THE DISK TO YOUR BACKUP AND PRESS QUICK EJECT BEFORE THE DISK TRAY CLOSE ALONE YOU MUST BE VERY QUICK AND THAN IT WORKS FINE !!! THAT``S MY BOOT METHOD FOR SOME GAMES (STAR WARS;THEME PARK: RIDGE RACER) AND ALL WORKS FINE !!!

I HOPE I CAN HELP YOU!! WHEN YOU HAVE SSX CAN YOU SAY ME WHY IT HANGS IN THE GAME I HAVE NO IDEAS!!!
