Why do the ps2 games i burn not work?

Hey guys
i got a ps2 recently .. a PAL one..
i downloaded a few games such as Burnout, WWF Smackdown 3, Splashdown etc

when i burn these games, i find that they dont even boot... they hang at the loading screen of the game and i hear loud clicking sounds from the cd.. some even give me a black screen of death

i use a HP 9100i with CDRWIN in default settings at various speeds on Samsung media
i have a neokey usb mod and the Memory Manager 16 to boot the games..

I would really appreciate if someone could help me out
Peace

i download from various ftps but the bins themselves are fine..ive checked them using SFV checkers..so that isnt the issue

EA games will need patching to work with NEOKEY. ( ####://www.eapatcher.com )

The HP 9100i has some problems with RAW-DAO mode; it won't handle protected games because it won't burn the sub-channel information.

Memory Manager 16 should boot most stuff though EA games need the EA boot method.

Then the downloads could well be dodgy. They do come as BIN files with CUE sheets?

The 9310 is RAW-DAO compatible. You do have "don't repair sub-channel data" set, when burning?

What are your CDRWin burning settings?

Do all games you download fail to boot?

Have any games been copied from origineals and worked/failed?

i havent copied originals but i have copied pirated games purchased locally and those dont work.my copy doesnt work i mean

and where is that option you are referring to in CDRWIN? i just load up the cue and click burn...no other options enbaled or disabled

yes every game ive burnt so far has failed to boot..those which do boot hang at the loading screen..burnout which got past the first screen is jittery in game.. i even tried doing a auto lba patch in AdZero but it made no difference

what are the exact settings you want me to use in cdrwin? what is the exact process of burning a downloaded BIN and CUE to a working cd for a PAL ps2 with usbmod

thanks

ANSWER: Did the locally purchased games work before you copied them? And if so, are you able to copy with CloneCD?

ANSWER: Sorry - I gave you a CloneCD setting. CDRWin should do the job based on the cue sheet info. But you can set the burn speed and hopefully you didn't go higher than 4x.

ANSWER: Beginning to sound like the media isn't too good or the laser needs calibrating. Symptoms can be identical either way. So I come back to advice not to burn faster than 4x or even 2x on really cheap media. What speed did you use? I do recommend as a control measure that you try and burn a backup of an original game using the CDRWin params at ####://www/ps2ownz.com or ####://www.psxcopyworld.co.uk

ANSWER: With a cue file, the parameters don't matter other than those that are unrelated to mode info. So you'd typically on burning set your speed to 4x or less. I don't tick anything on the bottom row. You could tick burn proof to avoid buffer under-runs (which just waste a disk - no other effect)
