Mass Effect 2 weird crash

After I pick up "Legion" and go on the mission, I return back to the ship with EDI telling me that I'm going to have to take the shuttle for my next mission. I go to the Galaxy map to enable the cutscene. blah blah blah dialogue. Then, as I turn to walk away I'm greeted by the black screen that usually indicated a scene transition, only my game locks up. I have no idea what's going on. My game has run FLAWLESSLY for 15 hours of gameplay, yet during this one scene transition it dies. I have tried disabling vsync, lowering my settings, restarting the mission. None of it works. Anybody have any ideas on how to solve this problem? Much thanks.

Its crashing always at the same time/spot? I had only 1 crash in the game, restarted the game, load the save, no more crash at the same spot.

using a cracked version of game like this... bad idea.
