need help burning Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2

1) I burn't with CDRWin and applied patch (5 trainers & PAL/NTSC selector. It says it burn't successful but when i go to play game the screen is jumping like the vertical hold on my tv is not set right. psxcopylist says game isn't protected. (1 coaster)

2) so next i tryed burning with CDRWIN in Backup disc mode but selected copy directly to CD recorder, is this right or should i use copy to image instead?(2nd Coaster created)now the game cant be read without the patch it doesn't recognize it
3) also what is a selector am i putting something on that i shouldnt be?

4) I think these patches are right but instead of tony hawks proskater 2, its called in psx copyworld patches as tony hanks proskater 2

Ok Tadpole youre nearly there. Tony Hanks is the release name in the US it is Tony Hawks in the PAL UK version.
Better to copy without the selector. A selector is to give you the option at boot to run as NTSC or PAL, it is usually if you get an NTSC game and you want to run it on your PAL tv. OK you get some cheats (trainers) as well.
The rolling you see on the TV is something to do with the selector I sure. make sure you select PAL not NTSC at game boot. But as I said it is best to copy it without the patch and play the game without cheats.
The only patches you should bother about are the ones that say 'Protection fix' then you definitely need these ones.

How do you select pal/ntsc at game boot i dont see anything that prompts me at start up of game in psx 1.

Also why didn't the burnt game work after i never patched it or does this game actually need a patch?
