I dont know about other people but in my opinion SONY CD-R is the best all around disk you can buy for an extremely good price. I buy a box of 10 for just 8.99. SONY disks are very very good and havent failed me once. I ve burned about 20 psx games and all that were burned on SONY work just like the original. I burned one on MEMOREX and that turned out bad. So if I were you I would give SONY a chance, if you dont like it you can always go out and throw out 2-3 times more than you would normally pay and get something thats basically the same thing.

It all depends on your burner and the program that you are using, I have a sony burner and use nero I found that I can use Imation cd's, Sony cd's, Mitsubishe cd's ( I live in Australia so you may not be able to get these.) I used to use Princo cd's but then something went wrong and we couldnt use them so it all depends on if they work and at what cost you can get them at. I have found that some of the cheaper brands are sometims better than the more expensive brands.

1st off I am running for both read and writing,
a Mitsumi4804TE.
I burn with Cdclone as is superior,
and also cdrwin for trainers and selectors and psone patch applying.
I can truthfully say that ACER's ,Memorex Black cdr,s,
vebatim, and Trax data all run fine on a psx with a
DECENT lazer. Also messed with Freecom cdr and well
even unbranded.
The trick is to read and burn under 4x speed.Slower the
better.
Mitsumi's 4804TE is compatible with
Clone, nero , cdrwin , and win on cd. thats a good thing
as you can pick 'em up for under a ton.
