Copying scratched/damaged disks

Is there any possible way to copy games that have lots of scratches as well as other damages. I was trying to burn Mission Impossible and the disk was just horrible and when using CDRWIN as soon as it would get to 20% percent it would start getting errors. The errors would stack up to as much as 500. Are there any tricks/tips/ways for copying damaged games? Also, is there anyway to fix disks?
Any help would be appreciated.

Someone mentioned that they rub toothpaste on the disk to rub out the scratches. I tried this myself and i was very impressed. I had a disk that would not copy for nothing, but after a little rubbing and alot of bubble gum flavored toothpast, it recorded just fine. reading at 2x speed has helped me out with the stuborn disks. less errors. If you try it, make sure to use a very soft cloth. Take your time....
