Breath of Fire 4 question!!!

I've played the game for about thirty minutes and i still haven't got the no smoking sign yet. My version is US/NTSC, and i am using an ordinary 4 wire modchip. I would like to know where I am supposed to get the no smoking sign. If it is supposed to be right at the beginning, then my copy is not protected.

i have the ntsc version as well and i havent seen one. i think it might be on pal
