There are,but I read (and I can't remember where),that Sony changed the hardware on the motherboard which stoped the "modchip" from working.
WWW.liksang.com used to sell the chips,and ps2's with chips,but they don't seem to any more.
Be very aware till you get hard evidence that they will work in your ps2.

Yes there is a chip available go to modchip.co.uk he has done a few imported ps2's that work ok the chips cost about £30.00 ?? .Is it worth ruining £300.00 of god worthy material why not just wait a year for your guarantee to run out Unless you can find a spare one at the side of the road!!
