Doom 3 and expansion pack

hey all i got the doom3 expansion pack and when i go to install it it says that it cannot determine the current version of my doom3 installation any ideas?

Okay. A lot of factors here determine the problem.

1) Are you using Linux or Windows x86 or Windows 64-bit?

These are the likely problems:

1) You have to Update your Video Card Drivers to the latest version.
2) You are installing to 64-bit Windows:

• Copy the ROE contents to your HDD
• Replace the .MSI file with this one: http://www.planetamd64.com/index.php...s&showfile=148
• Install from HDD

You can also edit the MSI file by hand if you know how to use orca:
Copy the msi file to the hard disk -Open ORCA
Open the msi file & Browse down to "LaunchCondition" in the left panel.
Right Click and select Drop Table Save the file

Also just to be sure: ROE CAN NOT BE INSTALLED WITHOUT DOOM3.

Do you have original doom3 installed?

yea i do have original doom3 installed and it says the same error if i try to install patches, its running off a fixed .exe

Then put the original exe back! Dont use a cracked exe if you want to install patches or expansions.
