Thumbs up ToCA Race Driver 3 - How to beat Tier32!

The following guide will allow you to beat ToCA Race Driver 3 on PC-DVD with ease on Tier32, however this is cheating but works a treat!

Download a small application called iRipper here (748K).

Navigate to C:\Program Files\Codemasters\Race Driver 3\gamedata\chamship

Copy a file called champ.big to your desktop. Now rename champ.big to champ.old in the above directory, so you have a back-up copy! Much quicker than having to re-install the whole of ToCA 3!

Run iRipper and open the champ.big file you copied to your desktop. Once you've opened the champ.big file, a long list of *.ini files should be displayed. Locate a file called forw_.ini

Right click the file and select Edit with. On the left click Add program. Navigate to C:\Windows and choose Notepad.exe. Now double click on Notepad.exe.
The contents of the forw_.ini file should now be displayed within Notepad.

Look for two entries near the top:

CareerOfferTeamID = KQMS
CareerOfferCarID = forw_03/F18

Change these so they read as follows:

CareerOfferTeamID = WMMS
CareerOfferCarID = for1_00/F27

If you scroll down further, you'll find entries relevant to each of the eight races on Tier32.

By default CareerLapsNum = 10. You could change this to CareerLapsNum = 2 meaning you'd only have to complete 2 laps instead of 10. To apply this setting to all tracks on Tier32, you must change the setting on each race under the headings [Race 1], [Race 2], [Race 3] etc...

Once you've made all changes you'd like, click File > Save then exit Notepad. If you now maximise iRipper you should see a message Replace data now. Click Yes. The forw_.ini file will appear faded amongst the other *.ini files. Click on Save at the top of iRipper.

You may now close iRipper and move Champ.big from your desktop back to the C:\Program Files\Codemasters\Race Driver 3\gamedata\chamship directory.

Now run ToCA Race Driver 3 as normal and enter the World Tour. All will work as normal, apart from now you'll have the Williams BMW FW27 car as you do in Tier31

If Gamecopyworld would like a 'pre-made' champ.big file, I can upload my copy which is only 1.99MB. Have fun!

If you don't like what you read, why bother replying? Maybe you have too much time on your hands, nevermind...

I remember with V8 Supercars 2 (or Toca 2, whatever its called in the relevant countries) that al the races were fairly easy to win, except for the last race. And that was using the original disc so it had nothing to do with any protections kicking in.
Anyway the last race was extremely hard to win, every time once the lead car got in front that was pretty well the end of the race as I could never catch it, didnt matter how perfect I raced.
But, what I did was made sure I got to the second corner first and made sure I braked hard causing the other cars behind to crash into each other and therefore trapping the car that always won in with the crash. That way I managed to get a decent enough lead and all I had to do was to drive a perfect race, making sure not to allow anyone to pass me. And only then did I manage to win the race.
So you could say I cheated without using any cheats.
Now I havent played Toca 3 so I dont know if the last race you are referring to needs to be completed in the same manner?
I too think the above post could prove useful to others and dont know why it got such a hard reception? Not that I would personally want to use a cheat like that. I like to work out ways of beating games without using cheats or trainers.

Thanks for the compliments! I have uploaded a Zip file to Gamecopyworld, so users who wish to cheat can do so. Those who want to lose their hair completing Tier32 without cheating may also do so
