burning a dvd using nero express

when burning a dvd film using nero express it plays fine on my standard tv, but when played thro my hdtv the picture is jumpy and not smooth? some1 has mentioned 2 me that this is because nero express burns at a 4:3 ratio picture and needs to be burnt at 16:9 ratio in order to get it to work on a hdtv set. does any1 know how to do this with nero express (as i cant find any settings to change this) or reccomend another burning program that can be set to burn at 16:9.
thanks for any replies

I don't think the picture ratio is determined by your P.C.'s burning software if your backing up a video from a DVD.

Am i right with the assumption youre not using Nero Vision at all ? You're just using Nero Express, arent you ?
Try using NeroVision 4, you can set the aspect ratio to 4:3 or 16:9, that shouldn't be a problem ?

i tried using nerovision 3 (couldnt find 4) and this did actually work but the picture was small (like it had been cropped) and it took ages, over a hour, as it was transcoding and creating menu's, is this normal or am i not doing it correctly.
thanks for any help

why would you need to create a menu if you already have the original??? And yes nero does take a long time you are creating a dvd from scratch
