Looking for a place to get lens cleaner?
Hi, I don't exactly need the lens cleaner now, but I was wondering if anyone knows a good place to get a ps2 lens cleaner or has any recommendation as to what one to get? I did a search but couldn't find any specific sites. I've heard people say that's it's good to give the ps2 lens a cleaning every now and then, so that is why I was looking into it. Thanks for any help.

Hmm, yeah, I need to find a place, like everything is working alright for me, none of my games have skipped and they all work fine, nothing weird, EXCEPT that the other day I put in my original, DVD, perfect condition Serial Experiments Lain box set number 2 dvd, and the episodes skip alot, like the system doesn't make any weird noises, it's just there is alot of pauses in the DVD and I can't figure it out -- to see if it was a problem on my system, I put in a copy of my NFL 2k5 game and played a few games, flawless, everything went great -- same with other dvds, and my experiments lain dvd never used to skip, but for some reason is does, so I'm thinking maybe the lens is a little bit dirty? I mean the fact that all my games work gives me the impression that my laser isn't dying, so I dunno...
Oh, and I'm not really to big on opening up the system, which is why I was looking for a lens cleaning dvd. |

cool, luckily for me, there was an old dvd player sitting around, well, it's not that old, and it works great, so I figure, ps2 for games, dvd player for movies(of course). I'm still going to get a lens cleaner though, just to try and stay a bit ahead of the game.

open your ps2 and clean manually the lens...and then adjust the trimmer if your ps2 doesn't read properly!

yeah, I have decided against that route just because I recently sent it off to someone who cleaned it(also checked it out because it was having some problems with clicking noises, etc), and as of now, all my games are working great, and I have just been using my DVD player for movies. But thanks for the suggestion, I'm just really paranoid about opening it up, especially since it has a little warrenty sticker on it from the person who I sent it to, and the last thing I want to do is mess that up, you know. Now, if my games start skipping alot I will start to get worried, but DVDs skipping I can deal with because they work great on my DVD player. Peace.
