In Alcohol 120%, you can select the copy protection for which reading/writing is "optimized".

Don't forget it is not possible to choose the protection type when creating an image of a 'DVD'.

Maybe a bit off-topic but I've just registered and I can't download the attachement from Diranar. Althoguh I'm looged-in when I click the attachment icon it takes me to the log-in page. Can someone enlighten me?

Yeah, it is off-topic, that's what the "GameCopyWorld Support" forum is for. By the way, I think all you need is to enable cookies (for that site).

It wasn't the cookies but now is working, this vBulletin systems sometimes need a bit of time, that's all. By the way, the mds file doesn't work

Are you using it with the .mdf from the EU DVD?

Well the US version is not multilanguage, is it? I think I've got the EU version, and according to Diranar his mds file is for the Eu one

Hi all, since I got really stuck in the game; I urgently look for a trainer. To bad that the +4 or +2 Trainer does not work - am I doing sth. wrong? Does anyone have another trainer or a trick how I can get these trainers running?

guys i succesffuly started pop tt and even trackmania and x3 but I simply dont know how to start Splinter cell 3...always get error that cd key does not fit with the disc in the drive..using the original

thank you! but i allready know that and i've used the starforce 3 settings of alcohol120% to make an image of my pop t2t dvd!so that doesn't work! but why did my image work after replacing the mds with the mds from Diranar? so i'm very interested how Diranar was able to made a working image of his original dvd?
please post somebody a describtion how i can make o working image of my sf3 protected games. maybe diranar could do that?!

Well this just isnt possible!! You CAN NOT choose a Protection (Data Type) when creating an image of a 'DVD'!!

ok it isn't possible with alcohol120%! but there have to be a programm who is possible to do that. because Diranar made a wonderfull working image of pop t2t!is there any trick or is it just magic?

Hello, first i have to say that not every DVD Drive out there is capable of making a 100% RMPS/DPM Reading. A Source for .mds i will post at the end of this liuitle Desciption

I Have 2 Drives :
1x DVD Burner Benq DW1620 - is NOT able to read DPM
1x DVD ROM Teac DV???? - This Drives makes 100% DPM's

So if i want to make a Starforce Copy, i Put the Dvd in my Teac Drive and start up Alcohol 120%- Last Version out.

Since if you want to make a DVD Copy and select the Image Creating Wizard, there will be no Copy Profiles. We don't need them.

1. Simply check both Boxes : Read errors and Rmps reading(The Reading speed is not important now). Then click next/ok.

2. Alcohol will ask for RMPS/DPM Speed : This depends on the Drive used, both most people get best results on low Speed, i always use "4x".

Thats all, if you have a Drive thats not capable of reading the DPM Data, you'll get the error "DPM Creation not possible" , i would first try some other DPM reading speed.

If you need a .mds , because your Drive is not able too, go here :

There is a Box in which is written "Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory", here you type in the Name of the Game , which you need a .mds for
then click on "Finden!".
You'll get a list of the search, then click on the Game Name you need and most right and above is a Green "DPM-Dateien(Number)", click there and Download the file you need.
(The Site has Problems now, try it in some Days)

What I actually meant is it is not possible to choose a Data Type when backing up a DVD with Alcohol but it is still possible to create an image of a DVD using Alcohol.

And, as far as I understand from posts on this forum, you'd better use Blindwrite for reading/writing copy protected CD's/DVD's, instead of Alcohol 120%.
