what to do after rip?

I've got the data off the original game (that I own) using the serial uploader. Now I'm not sure what to do next. I can ungzip the .iso file and raw2wav the .raw files. Can I burn the data I downloaded directly to get it to work or what should I do?

Wrong, Rush. RAR only comes in after you have made a functional disc, dumped it to an image for transport via the Internet.

Although I've never ripped a disc, what usually happens after you get the files is you have to extract them (Scorpion225 said WinZIP works OK even though it gives an error). Once you extract the files, you need to hack all the BIN files and downsample any multimedia (Vid or Aud) files so the total amount of data will fit a CD-R. If necessary, sometimes you can rip out unnecessary stuff such as foreign languages and blank audio tracks and such.

Scorpion225 or someone else who's done it before can give you more help than I can though.

I can get to where the data will fit on one cdr, but do I want to leave the sound files as .wav or do I convert them back to .raw? My audio tracks start at track04, do I have to duplicate track04 to make track01- track03?

Is there a step by step guide that might help me out? All the ones I find are for converting utopia boot disk type game. Do I have to do any .bin modifing using the utopia method?

You would want to burn the .WAV files as audio on the disc, and of course since they start at track 4, you'll want to use the small empty audio track (that you can find in the Echelon self-boot tutorial) for the first three tracks on the disc. Granted, the self-boot tutorial uses an AUDIO.RAW....

As long as you burn the audio tracks on the disc where they are recognizable by a CD PLAYER, I don't see any problem buring .WAV files as audio.
