Each DC is different, Wayne's won't read off of blue ones properly, only green ones. Mine reads them both fine. It's more or less trial and error here.

As for what brand, Verbatim is good, 700MB.

I don't know that they're the best, but I recently bought a 100pk of Pioneer 80min cdrs from Fry's for $19 and they have worked in 3 different dc's manufactured in '99 with no problems so far. They seem like good quality. They have a champaigne colored tint to them, almost silver. That's about 20.6 cents per disk, including tax that is. Has anyone bought 'em cheaper than that per 100?

Hrmm, I buy 700mb data TDK brand with a green bottom (yellowish when written) and my Aug2k dc works perfectly with them. Those cds also worked on my friend's and my friend's friend's machines and there seemed to be no problems. To me its the quality of the burn that matters not so much the media
