Red face Very Strange Infinity Problem

Hi guys,
I have a very strange problem with an Infinity Homebrew mod chip. I installed it into a PAL v9 PlayStation 2 system, and after the install, checked that all my connections were good with a multi-meter. I placed insulation tape over all the wires and reassembled the console. I plugged all the cables back in, switched on and booted the flash CD perfectly. I then flashed the firmware successfully on the chip to v1.50. After this, I could access everything such as the Infinity manager and fast boot / disable also work perfectly fine. When an original boots the ‘Infinity 1.5’ logo appears underneath the PlayStation 2 logo. In short, the chip works exactly as it should, but backups of any PS2 or PS1 CD/DVD fail to boot. All originals are fine though – as was the booting of the Flash CD.
I cannot see what would cause something like this, so I was wondering what could cause such a thing. If you could give me any hints as to what to look for with this, before I open it back up, that’d be a fantastic help.

One interesting thing I did come across on the DMS4 forums, is that a bad 3v3 line can still cause the chip to work correctly, but CDVD authentication will fail (however the upgrade disc booted?). Could this also be the case with Infinity?

Thank you…

The problem is listed as above - and was my fault.

Basically, i've done quite a few of these PS2s recently, and I lost concentration for a brief second and accidently soldered the G wire to the B pad on the mod and vise-versa.

So there's a lesson, to check the VIA connections correspond to the correct points on the BGA before reassembly. It could really save you time and confusion in the long run (that and don't try and install mods at 12 o'clock midnight - or else you'll find yourself doing something as trivial as this...
