Question Star Wars X Wing

I wanted to play Star Wars X Wing with the DOS-Box 0.63 and the error "Cant find X Wing CD" appeared.

I mounted the cd drive and the game.

What can I do?

Hi Commander_m,

You mean the old DOS game? Cool! I had a look at Megagames but nothing to find there. However, if you can collect some files from the game so that this message can be reproduced, I'd be happy to try to crack it for you. Contact me via E-mail,

Joe

I think, he has a problem with the emulator. Not the game itself.

Just like you can play today's games without a CD, you were able to play games in the past without a CD: a no-CD patch, copying around some files and/or changing the game's configuration should do that.

Does that include the music that is in redbook audio, for games that use such music? Never did find a way to add it to any game's installation folder myself as hard as I have tried...

Hi guys,

Ahhh, I understand the problem now! The CD should be inserted so that the audio tracks are played. But DOSBox - not the game! - seems to be unable to find the CD and the game refuses to run... Well, in that case, you might wanna look into the DOSBox docs: I'm sure you can mount a physical CD into the emulated environment!
