Toca Race Driver 2 - GFX problem.

My PC setup:
AMD Athon64 3400+ with X800XT PE 256mb.

I've played TRD2 on this system without any issues. As I started to play Nascar_2003 and GTR, I did not get to play TRD2 for the last month. I however wanted to try out TRD2 when I installed my new wheel. This is when I found that there is a problem with TRD2.

The game is updated to V 1.2. Plays off the DVD. Game starts fine. You can choose your race etc, but when the race starts you can see your car and nothing else. The race background is black and grey with the road and surrounding area all black. No road. The colour on the cars is however fine. W.T.F is going on here?

1. I've uninstalled the game and reinstalled it. Tried it patched and unpatched. In both cases the gfx is stuffed.
2. I've installed the latest ATI driver. No go. I uninstalled this driver and installed 3 versions back's driver. No go.
3. I've tried the game with settings set very high. No go. I've set the settings all the way down. No go.
4. I've even moved the game from my IDE HDD to my SATA disk. Same problem.

Why would this game have worked fine before and now not work. All other games fine - GTR, DRIV3R, GTA_3, NASCAR_2003, ROME etc.

Try turning off Anti-Aliasing on your GFX card.

But it could be that the game doesnt like the X800 card.


The best place to get support is from the game developers' site.

Posts like this make me wonder if the name of the forum should be "PC Game Cracks", but it's obvious in the description of the forum that it's about cracks and that there's another forum called General Gaming for non-crack-related questions.

In short, move to general gaming
