any chance of me being able to play sc:ct without a dvd?
i'm asking this question because I won't be getting a dvd drive for atleast 2 weeks or more, I purchased sc:ct 3 days ago, and it's really bothering me that I have to wait that long to play a game I already own.
I heard about these diffrent methods like star****, and some thing with usb2 drives..anyone care to help? |

Why did you buy the game weeks before you bought the hardware to run the game? You may have been able to save some money when the game gets cheaper as time goes by.
There's nothing you can do for now. How will you transfer the game data to your computer without an optical drive? Unless, of course, you're referring to your downloaded copy of Spliner Cell....if you're talking about the downloaded game, you would still need an optical drive, at the moment, to play it. So, you're out of luck.

No, I did not know that the game was dvd only at the time, I was told it was dvd only on the LE, and all the adverts and such I saw, I do not remember them saying "DVD only"..
it's rather sad that I have to wait 2 weeks because I don't have a dvd drive..so ****ing sick of starforce. also, why are you saying "downloaded copy of splinter cell"? I said I purchased it 3 days ago. never said "downloaded it" |

Anyways, DVD drives aren't much more expensive than the full retail price of the SCCT. Guess you got to wait then.

"What does your lack of a DVD drive have to do with Starforce protection??"
It just makes me feel like ubisoft and starforce deny that I own a legit copy of their game..and I have to suffer for it. And I already mentioned I am getting a dvd drive, and I asked my dads friend last night if I can borrow one of his dvd drives, so if this works I won't have to worry much. Also, for anyone here that has sc:ct, want to do some co-op? (if it works). my xfire is sanius |

Like Optimummind I can't really see how you not owning a DVD-rom and the game using starforce...
Because without any DVD reader how are you gonna install the game? Play it? Use it in any way? How is Ubisoft to be blamed when you do not have the hardware required to use the disc? And a noDVD for this is most likely to take a while, if ever to be done. |

Guys, actually, hardware has _always_ been cheaper than software...
