Project snowblind with AMD Thunderbird
Got errors during startup. Is it the same problem as Brothers in Arms because of no SSE?
Exception at: 09/04/2005 at 03:05:42 Exception code: Illegal instruction (c000001d): Exception address: 0x005855d8 CPU info: --------- EAX = 0x43b9955c EBX = 0x00000000 ECX = 0xc4633580 EDX = 0x44fa2dfb ESI = 0x00ed98a0 EDI = 0x029133b0 EIP = 0x005855d8 ESP = 0x0032da84 EBP = 0x0032da88 Thanks for advise |

LOL one more reason why the guy above is best gone.
@superhero I do believe so, some games require the SSE instruction set :\ But I dont think BIA is one of them that uses SSE, whats your PC specs? I dont have Project Snowblind, but here is the specs required for the game IBM PC or 100% compatible Microsoft Windows 2000/XP (Windows 95, 98, ME and NT are NOT SUPPORTED) Pentium IV, 1.5 GHz (Or AMD Athlon XP equivalent) processor 100% DirectX 64 MB 3D Accelerated video card with Pixel Shader v1.1 Capability 256 MB System RAM 100% DirectX 9 Compatible Sound Card 3GB free uncompressed hard drive space (additional space may be necessary for saved games) 100% Windows 2000/XP compatible Mouse and Keyboard DVD-Rom Drive Looks like it does need SSE and a decent GFX card that supports pixel shading 1.1 |

It appears that today's developers are putting SSE without knowing the sideeffects......for one only P3's and above have it. 2nd only AthlonXP and recent AMD processors have it. Thunderbirds and below don't. Some games(D-Day and Suffering) disable this option in recent patches......judging form the requirements of SnowBlind I doubt they will issue one.

Maybe this will help.
Turn off "Enable Fullscreen Effects"
AMD Athlon Thunderbird 1.2 *poof* |

Hey neskk,
Does this occur with the uncracked EXE and the original DVD? If so, you should ask the game publisher/manfacturer or send a post to the official game support forum. Also, make sure to update to the very latest release of your video card! Good luck, Joe

I've already tried the newest drivers from Nvidia what ended up worst than it was before. Now the driver crashes when I try to enter in the game. It was working better before with old drivers. Soooo, I'm not stupid and I continue search for a way to play the game.
