God of War Backup?

I made a .nrg image of the "God of War" disk with nero and it came out to 7.93gb Are there instructions that I could follow to make it smaller manually or is there a rip kit available that will automate the process? I have no experience in this area of backup since most all my games have fit on CD or DVD up until recently with GT4 and now this. Is this the same PTP/OTP problem as GT4 which I do understand is not back-up-able at this point in time or is it just a bunch of movie/dummy files that need to be ripped/compressed?

it's too soon for a rip kit, you should wait a little more. I just read that someone has a working back up. he made the iso with dvddecryter and burnt it on a verbatim 2.4x dvd+dl disc with a Benq1620 writer, his ps2 is a V7 with dms3 chip. however some people say that it will freeze later on a certain level.
Do you use hdloader?

The Benq thing may just be the same hoax used when they said a GT4 backup was working with a Benq burnend game.

Alright I guess I'll wait for a ripkit, where is the best place to get them for up to date games?

No I don't use HD-Loader, I have a Matrix Infinity and I use Ridata DVD-R and I believe I have an NEC dual layer DVD writer.

yeah it seems all dual layer burners work with this game but game will freeze when it wants read something from second layer. I belive since this game has no special protection a ripkit will come soon. you can find rip kits over alucard.cc

I didn't realize that the PS2 laser would even read burned dual layer disks. What is the best media to use for this?

I have gone back and read the reviews of the HDLoader in the USI. The guide mentions that some games will not work with HDLOADER. Can anyone verify if God of War will work with HDLOADER?

verbatim is good but don't waste your money, the game will freeze on dvd+dl media, just wait for ripkit.

@20cobra01
game is incompatible.
