i've read faq's..done searches...need help

Ok i used to think i was fairly smart..till i tried burning DC ISOs.

Anyway here's the deal...as far as hardware goes..got a may2000 DC, burning on plexwriter 12/10/32, 64MB ram, DJ 3, burning at 1x....

I've been trying to burn outtrigger and JGR, have .cdi of both. Now what's killing me is i've read all the posts and done searches..everyone just says its so easy..."open dj, load .cdi, burn". Ok..so I do that. Outtrigger I got to load to the title screen..the intro works fine. WhenI press ####t...frozen...every time, same place. This was on a shitty generic disc. Switch to sony's, reburn...now I just get a black screen..nothing loads. I've burned JGR a few times, all I get on that is the now loading icon in the lower right corner and the disc stops spinning after a while. So here are my questions...

Am I using the wrong type of discs?? Everyone says sony's are fine...i've never had problems with them. Would a CDRW work better? not at all?

What should the settings be on dj3? and before you say don't change a thing on it...just freakin humor me and tell me what the setttings should be? mode 1 or mode2 xa? file system...this shouldn't matter since its an image...but i'm desperate at this point. Its frustrating to read a tutorial that makes it sound so easy..then i follow the steps and it doesn't work.

Can someone point me to an absolute asshole's guide to DC burning? cause thats what I feel like

First of all.. Thanks for registering and taking the time to research the forum.

That said, let's see what we can do for you. The media you are using shouldn't be a problem. I am using cheap-ass Memorex CDRs and they are fine. Ok. You burned the CDI file with no problems, right? And you are getting a black screen.

Huhm. Good question. I honestly DON'T think it is a software problem at all. I think it has to do with your DC. With the disk in, try to turn it on and off a few times to see if that does anything. I have a friends which does the same thing. Sometimes, it takes him three of four times to get the game ####ted.

About DJ. I thought the same thing about which mode, blah blah... But, the brilliance of a CDI file, is that it tells DJ exactly what to do, and the exact settings.

I haven't burned Outrigger yet (damned cable mode out for a week), and haven't heard of any problems. I would d/l and burn a game that everyone knows works great. I would get THPS2, because it's plastered everywhere, and have heard of no problems as of yet.

Not to sound generic, but if your desperate do some simple things. (I know I repeat myself alot, but...)

> uninstall/reinstall DJ3
> clean out temp dir
> defrag PC
> run regclean (or another registry cleaner; such as Norton System Works)
> close all proggies
> get the latest drivers for your writer
> burn at 4x
> dont move much.. one little tap (sometimes) and it's all over.. lol
> cross yer fingers

I would also somehow try to find someone else who has a DC and try it on theirs.

Have you burned any games that do work using diskjuggler ? If not try converting the CDI image to a Nero one and burn that.
