What am I doing wrong?

Ok, so I read the FAQ (I read a few FAQ's, actually) and I got myself a couple of CDI image files (games)...

So I ####t up DiscJuggler (although, I have 3.50.799 as opposed to 2.0 in the FAQ - there are subtle differences). File-->New. CD Pre-mastering to CD Recorders.

On CD Recording tab-->Advanced tab, I select Mode 1 (CD-ROM). On Action pull-down dialog, I select Write.

On the Explorer tab, I drag the CDI image file to the "open session". It asks me if I want to treat the specified file as a CD Image. I say no (saying yes makes it a CD-DA Session/Audio track).

The ####t button is greyed out unless I also ##### the "Overburn CD" option. So I ##### this and ####t the burn. What I'm left with on the CD is the exact same file I have on my hard drive - a large CDI image file.

Needless to say, this does nothing when I pop it into my DC. Inserting the Bootloader disc first also does nothing, as it, too, is also a CDI image file on the disc (which I also followed the instructions in the FAQ on the site to create).

So what am I missing? Someone please help me.

You don't drag a .CDI to the open image file.

Use the icon button (I think it looks like a folder) which is on the left side of a little white box (for text entry of filenames).

When you click the icon button described above, it will open an explorer box that allows you to choose the drive, path and filename for the .CDI.

Also, don't change ANYTHING in the settings except perhaps the OVERBURN option.

Wayne is right.

With DJ3, it is hard to make a mistake. Just browse to the CDI, and hit the button.

You can (as Wayne stated) use the overburn option if you need a few extra megs.

Ok, I'm either really missing something, or the interface in 3.50.799 is really different. Which version are you using?

There IS an "Explorer" tab/box, which I open. This brings up 3 smaller windows - the folders on the HD on the left, the contents of the folders on the right, and a CD "Destination" window beneath those two windows. Now, if I'm not dragging the CDI file from my HD to the "open session" in the destination window, what AM I supposed to do?
This is either something real simple that's getting lost in the translation, or we are talking about two different versions of DJ that have different interfaces, and different means of setting the source and destination. I'm trying to figure out which, and how to make the version I have work right.

Any ideas?

Your version is fine. Open DJ straight up. Hit "new". Choose the option that burns a CD from a CD image. (Can't remember exact wording.) You will have two boxes a "source" button and a "burn" button (Again, can't remember exactly the wording.) Click on source. Browse to the CDI. Double click on it. Then let it rip. Your CDI tells DJ everything else. (Self boot etc.)

Good luck. Don't make it harder than it is. I just think you are on a wrong screen, or not using the proper option.

Yup - I finally got it. I was missing something in the DiscJuggler settings.

Just burned my first game - Sonic Adventure 2 - and I'm playing it now.

Thanks for your help, everyone.
