Delete it from the memory card. If it says corrupt data and wont let you delete it you may have to reformat the card.

After the version 0.1.2 flash upgrade the data no longer is corrupted. On the memory card it is a swirling "BM" amd can be deleted straight from there. Just upgrade the bios to version 0.1.2 or higher and you can delete it.

You will find it very usefull. With out the BM the CC is nothing more then an expensive boot only chip. All of the CC's features are found with in the BM. You can remove BM through BM its self by the way.

There are so many....

1) The ability to load the game in enhanced mode or sleep mode (this has been a lifesaver for my Gameshark and Action Replay Max)

2) Tons of software in the Bootmanager Mega Pack, including, but not limited to an MP3 Player, a SNES Emulator, Region Free DVD Support, Y-Fix, can load HD Loader from the BM, Naplink, PS2Link and other tools are all in the Bootmanager Megapack. Check out Sped's UIS on the Crystal Chip to see all it has to offer.

I have to admit, before the first few flash upgrades, the BM was all but useless, so I deleted it. Now that we are up to flash version 0.1.4, everything works as it should and the CC team is just tweaking a few things. I will never delete the BM again.

Go to this site and register. Then click on downloads, and then PS2 Utilities.

http://www.eurasia.nu/

They have all the up to date bios for Crystal Chip, DMS, Viper, Matrix Infinity and more.

when you say bios, do u mean firmware upgrades.

some people are saying you need to flash the bios, whereas some are saying you need to upgrade the firmware?

I am having trouble booting some disks so if there is a difference then can someone tell me how to flash the bios with a hacked upgrade?!

bios firmware are the same thing. By the looks of it its either a dodgy install or a weak laser.

thanks,

i think the chip is fine, i bought it as a pre-mod and when i say some disks i only mean backups. Home DVD-R work fine, normal games boot fine and cd-r (e.g. BM + firmware) disks are fine.

It seems like my attempts to install a hacked firmware upgrade has failed. Could this be because the pre-modder has already put on the latest version and therefore it wont be over-ridden??

Could anyone guide me as to how i can make sure that the hacked firmware disks i have created from downloads will work!!

Is it worth downgrading?

HELP! Its really annoying!
