SM 3.3 Help

I know swap tools are not very popular with everyone on the forums but i have a friend who has a Swap Magic 3.3 cd and lent it to me and i was wondering how to get it to work. I do not want to do any fliptop or etc mods that require opening because this is just temporary because im curious of how it will work. I plan to by a CC as soon as i get more money, i had it all set and then i got a 205 dollar fine *that one sucked*. I have the slimline v12. I just tried the straw method Guide with no luck. If anyone has advice id greatly appreciate it.

Yeah just wait until you get your money saved up again. If not you might be saving for a new PStwo as well as a chip + install.

Ouch. Are they that bad? spent all last night and i found the Slim Tool and the cds for $34. I live in US so it was one of the few US sites that i found that was good. I read reviews all night and thought that it was a good decision to get it for now. And if i want a real modded ps2 i will mod an older one if i get one. Like what are the problems with it that people have?

Yes i have...i will eventually prob get a mod chip but im not going to put one in till i have enough money to get a top of the line one like CC or MI installed and even if it doesnt have the features a mod chip has i just need to play backups of my games. If i could solder it myself of course i wuld get a mod chip but i dont have the money at the time to get one installed. And also i dont want to void my warranty yet. Thanks for help. Does anybody know which ames do not supposlly work with?

the straw methed works on the v12s me and my m8 tryed it for the heck of it we just need swap disk u got to play around with the sensor on the legs that holds the lid open its a doozie theres 2 sensors on it u got to push down with something im thinking of going that rout untill they make a stable mod that wont fry my pstwo but im going to take the top off the system and use 2 sticks of black tape and tape the sensors down then i will be set to go

theres no need buying extra things to sovle the senors problem just use tape or straw method

I need to get the cd anyway so im going to get the tool also. But does anyone know any conflicts with this? Not lack of features or trouble but actual problems like technical problems or game problems.

Well it will shorten the life of the PS2 for one. Just think of someone forcing you open all the time and making you do something you was meant to do.

But my warranty will cover that...thats aprt of the reason im doing this bc if it breaks i can get sony to fix it.

I'm sure you've all seen posts on here where we advise people against cards/lids/discs etc... and the reasons why. We don't do it for the good of our healths - there is a reason behind it and that reason is because it isn't a real solution, it costs pretty much the same as a mod (a Duo2 is only about £15) and it's too much crap to boot a single disc. In severe cases (such as with the cards) it'll f*** the PS2. What it costs you now may seem cheap, but in the long run you'll only have to mod anyway.

I don't see the logic - people see the warnings, they know the bad things and the downsides and still go with it... I'm very confused people...

Well im not putting a mod chip in my new psTwo until i have enough money to get a good one installed and that wuldnt come to 15 Euro (thats euro right?) it would be about 100 american. And if the swap magic messes up i have the warranty to cover me since i didnt open it. I have yet to have anyone tell me of somehting actually happening or cases that it has. Everyone is just tlaking about the trouble of swapping disc and its cheapness and etc.

No, I said a Duo2 cost £15.

But what you've spent on those discs, you could have put towards your modchip. Surely you could use your originals for a few more weeks rather than feeling the need to buy those waste of time discs?
