ok this is getting annoying now

i have the above mp3 player im running xp with service pack 2 installed,when i insert the usb mp3 player when the pc is on,the pc makes a noise like it has found a new device but nothing happens it says I device is not accessible i cannot access any songs on the device.All the drivers/software are installed prop....now comes the good bit,if i plug it in then re-start the pc with the device inserted it works Fine!!!!!!!!!! also the player work fine on my laptop running xp with sp2...........HELP
