Unhappy xbtool ?

Need a little help with xbtool 1.0.23a How do I use it? As I want to increase my fan speed. It is at 15%. My xbox is getting to hot up to 138f. Do i make a iso of it and install it or use it from my pc? Please let me now.


My xbox

You use it on your PC to edit a bios (.bin). I did it to do exactly waht you're trying to do. I believe I editted a X2 4981 bios (bios's after that are encrypted, is what I am told). After you edit the bios, flash your mod however you do it. I flashed my mod with an LPT adapter... for some reason, dashboard flashing never worked for me.


Sidenote: I spun my fan up to 60%. The noise is bearable and the CPU stays right around 47 Celsius.

Ok thanks. Were do I get a LPT adapter from todo this with as I never Mod my box myself. Thanks

So can you tell me how to turn up the fan speed to cool it down a little? Without using xbtool Thanks

Umm I think you just connect the ground to a better ground to get the full force of your fan. The ground its currently connected to is somehow controlled by the xbox. So I guess you just ground it to another spot and you should be good.

Thanks for the help moved the ground wire. Makes a huge difference's in the speed of the fan. Runs alot cooler now.
