Angry Music Cds not working.............

I have two stand-alone home music cd burners that I use exclusively to archive my considerable vinyl record collection to CD.......One is a Marantz, one is a Phillips.....My problem is this.......In the last year, many respected brands of music CDs will not work on either player, I used to be able to buy any brand of music CD and it work.........This is very irritating as I am following "the system" and the system has failed me...

Any suggestions, similar stories, etc. would be appreciated....

Music CD's DO Work, at 74min CDR's , not 80min CDR

I located 74 min music CDR's from Tape World in Butler Pa., and both audio recorders work fine, it's not the brand, but the recording length that confused both audio recorders.

They are both 4 + years old, and 80 min music CDR's were not available then, only 74 minute music CDR's . Apparently it is a squeeze to get 80 min music recording time on a CD, and these older decks just weren't calibrated for the newer music blank CD's that are set up for computer burners.

Why do I continue to use these decks? I am archiving vinyl LP's to CD, and these units record just great in the analogue mode, and the final CD sounds better than going the computer route. I admit I am a finicky audiophile, but the decks sound better.
