Should i?

Hey Dudes,

Im just thinking should i chip my ps2 its a v9 never ever been touched before. Ive done a v7 and a v4 that went wrong but i fixed it. The only thing im woried about is it not working. Specially the points B G I Vias. Im going to chip it with a matrix infinity. I have got someone who could do it for 30 pounds just for chipping inc postage back. But im unsure Do you think i should take the risk of doing it myself?

sl33p is on a distinguished road
well... if you already had practice... and can ACCURATELY solder.. then go for it... im a little 18 year old kid with twitchy hands like i was on crack and i still did it. the only soldering experience i had was from school soldering giant 20awg wires to computer ports. what a mess that was... but yeah once you see how tiny the spots are you will learn to be careful.. very careful.

took me about a week to do haha, but total time was about 20 hours. most of that time was just trying to obtain flux. lol. make sure you have that. half of my install is not fluxed and the other half is.

lets just say the matrix infinity is very lenient on crappy wire lengths and placement.

now ofcourse if you have no faith in yourself, shell out the 30 pounds.im not trying to convince you that it is really easy to do because its not. i think i have just about the ****tiest install on these forums from the pictures i seen.

you just need to have patience and correct materials. meaning flux, and a very tiny soldering iron tip.

i used a .4mm

good luck with whatever path you choose to take.
