Unhappy Call of duty router help{pleeeese}

Does anyone know how to set up port forwarding for call of duty?since using a router i cannot see ANY servers. i have a similar prob on other mp games.is the router the prob?i dont know alot about routers, but i know its not ideal to set up a DMZ{although im guessing this would sort the prob at the expence of security.}ANYONE HELP PLEASE??? thank you.
